I guess it's because you're tackling the Nemuri Kyoshiro Burahikae stage play at the moment, but you're certainly looking very macho!

G:  It's because I'm creating a body that will go well with the kimono I wear in the play… I'm forging the upper half of my body and tightening my waist.  I won't be able to wear it naturally with a thin body.  I have to create shoulder width.  Whether I look good in it or not depends on how I make my body.  The only part of skin that shows on my body is the chest.  If that's insubstantial I'll look delicate.  Therefore, if I don't do up my chest I won't look good in it either.  If I wear it with my stomach showing, it'll be like "Are you a middle aged guy or a shopkeeper!?" (laughs).  I'm always changing my physical shape to go along with the themes of these temporary jobs.  When I did the Zepp tour in '07, I slimmed down to 58kg because I wanted to display an androgynous atmosphere.  I thought I'd lose as much as I could.  I think I weigh about 68-69kg now.  I think it would be possible for me to build muscle up to 80kg.  But it depends on the role.  It's because I'm doing this getting rid of everything unnecessary.  To be honest, I'm strict with myself both physically and psychologically, but it's only that I do these things because they're necessary.

At the YELLOW FRIED CHICKENz concert held at Zepp, you excited the audience with your  performance by ripping off the shirt and necktie you were wearing yourself.

G:  I'm "a man who arouses women", so I need to take an erotic approach (smile).  I approached it differently at the men only show I did in March, but since there are women at the venue I have to educate them too.  If I try to put it in words, it's "the height of male stripping"…But it's not that I'm trying to show a suitable body, my approach is to display sexiness and fascination using both my masculine and feminine points skilfully.
