Year 2002
As you all probably know, Gackt participates in a number of commercials that show of his awesome and perfect body, thus making us go all crazy with jeolousy. Gackt doesn't seem to be embarassed at all and he doesn't seem to mind us gawking at him like that ^O^" So here's an interview of Gackt where he tells us his thoughts and feelings about his nudity XD

Year 2002
As you all probably know, Gackt participates in a number of commercials that show of his awesome and perfect body, thus making us go all crazy with jeolousy. Gackt doesn't seem to be embarassed at all and he doesn't seem to mind us gawking at him like that ^O^" So here's an interview of Gackt where he tells us his thoughts and feelings about his nudity XD
Gackt: No matter what commercial it is, the first thing I ask the staff is, "Would it really be okay if Gackt plays the part? Is Gackt the only person who can do it?" Because if someone else can do it, then there is no reason for me to do it. This time I asked the samething and the answer I recieved was, "it's something that only Gackt can do." With those words, all my doubts were cleared. When I saw the story board saying that I had to go all nude it didn't change my mind. While doing the story board, there were no specific orders telling me what pose I had to do so while shooting the commercial, I changed my poses according to what I wanted to convey and what ending results we wanted of which, we already discussed at the studio.
Besides this, the commercial does not specify gender, it doesn't matter whether it is for a man or a woman, all it wants to do is to convey the message I have about beauty. Therefore, before shooting, I asked for two months in which I exercised to make myself fit, and in the end I lost 10 kilos. It wasn't a diet, but more like body shaping. I didn't overdo myself trying to lose weight, but I just got rid of the fat around my body because I'm a big person. So in order to make my body have nice curves and be beautiful, I had to do that. This was the picture I imagined on the last day of my concert tour. At that time, because I had to practice for lives and I had to record my songs, the fat around my body was burned up and I got the curves around my body as I had pictured.
Food wise, I just ate normally. Usually I don't care much abut carbohydrates much anyway, and I like to eat rice, bread, and noodles. When I didn't care, my body lost shape. So I decided to stop eating these things, it's been about 4-5 years. I turned to start caring about the amount of food I should eat in according to my body weight, and the convenience too, whether it be meals or snacks. Plus after 10PM I would not eat anything, when I wake up in the morning I would excercise...
Is living like that hard? Not at all and it's not like I'm tormenting myself. Because I've trained like this for so long I've gotten used to it. It's become a habit. When I brush my teeth I would excercise too. There probably isn't anybody who is annoyed about brushing their teeth? After I excercise, I would eat. There are times when I would eat over my limit but I don't feel restricted in anyway. For me, I've done it so often that it's become a normal thing.
Now that I've participated in a commercial like this it makes my want to join the business about beauty to gain experience like others because if I don't have any experience, I cannot make others understand what's it like. For example, what I do is to make my skin whiter and I would wax my hair. Most people would think that waxing "hurts" but in fact, it doesn't hurt at all. It actually feels so good that I fell asleep without realizing it. When I woke up I was like, "finished already?" Oh yeah, didn't they say that bodily hair was good for you? But for me, I think it was good that I did it. Eh? My bottom half was waxed too? Doesn't it feel kind of smooth?....only my legs were waxed, not everything. Of course, *that* part remains unwaxed *laughs*
Having white skin like this feels nice actually. When I was a kid, I was very black because I was in the sun a lot. But now I live my life barely in the sun, I'm never in the sunlight. Sometimes when I am, people would tell me that it would have bad effects on my skin, so I just felt that I shouldn't be in the sun at all. There isn't anybody who doesn't like beautiful skin, whether you're a male or a female.
In the commercial, I was all nude as we had agreed in the beginning, I had no hesitation. And even if I wanted to hide, nothing much would come out of it. Being naked infront of people who wants to shoot something beautiful, I wasn't embarassed at all.
Doesn't a person's body tell others how that person lives their life? Plus I feel that shooting like this is very sexy. People who try everything to make themself look good, and take care of themselves so that they look beautiful have a lot of charm and attraction. Therefore, I really like the phrase that the commercial uses, "will polish your beauty" (I don't know the exact phrase that was used in the commercial, does anybody know? -D.T.) Because it doesn't just mean the beauty on the outside, but also on the inside, not just one particular side but both. In that case, it'll make you proud of your own beauty...and would lead you to seek more beauty for yourself.
What I've always thought about is that I want to erase my bad points, and present my good points. Because the moment humans have the determination and desire, humans will surely become beautiful.
