Q. Please tell us the highlight of your new drama “THE HEAD”!
Corpses are found in a research base in the South Pole which is isolated from the outside world. The psychological suspense begins from that. Of course that’s the highlight, but the human factor behind that is also the key of this drama!
Q. How is the personality of the character you play, “Aki”?
He’s a young microbiologist with promising future. He appears to have a gentle heart, but about the trauma in his past… Please watch it to find out about the rest (laugh).
Q. What things surprised you during the filming?
In this work, they filmed one scene from various angles. But instead of cutting it into several takes, they did it in a long take. For one same scene, we had to do around 20 takes and it’s quite time-consuming. So I thought they spent so many hours for this work.
Q. If there’s a signage for this drama in a video rental shop, how would it be?
I’ll leave it to the professional staffs of the shop (laugh).
Q. How was your impression when you first saw the enormous set in Tenerife Island?
The actual size of the set was so big that it looked like a maze. It’s so big that it took a lot of time for me to get used to it. I was simply excited.
Q. What things did you always bring to the filming location?
Script and smartphone. Only those two.
Q. What’s the Spanish word you used the most?
“Quiero ir a…” (I want to go to…)
Q. What things you packed in your suitcase before you went for filming?
Ready-to-eat rice and miso soup in retort pouch. I brought them in a quite large number that I had to squeeze them into my suitcase.
Q. How was the dressing room at the filming location?
There were only chair, table, and sofa. It’s very simple.
Q. What’s so good about living together with YamaP? Please tell us the important things to note too!
