Episode 5: P.S. I LOVE U

 

This is the last “episode” GACKT shared in the run-up to his new single’s release. It’s the lyrics to the song proper. Now that the full music video is out, that’s what I’ve embedded below. However, the translation and lyrics posted here are those that GACKT included in the Facebook post, which are different in parts from what appears in the video. Also, he sings 「言葉」(kotoba=words) for where he had written 「嘘」(uso=lies).

Anyway, I’ve made this translation read like a letter rather than song lyrics. Perhaps it’s a fairly liberal interpretation.

Staff Introduction

GACKT will release his 44th single, “P.S. I LOVE U,” on February 12th. After over six months of fretfully rewriting the lyrics and singing them in different ways, this song has evolved to the point that GACKT himself has called it his “legacy.”
