Onore 6: Ruki interviewing Uruha (2005)

Ruki: What do you want to be next?
Uruha: Eh? Why this question? *laughs* I want to become someone with a distinct aura!
Ruki: What kind of aura do you want?
Uruha: A "destroy something strong and solid" kind of aura!
Ruki: What do you want to destroy?
Uruha: I want to break down what you guys have created and make something new out of it! If you don't break free from something, you'll just end up stuck where you are, right?
Ruki: Rather than destroy and recreate, your aura is more like- adding spice to life.
Uruha: No I’m not! OK then, I don’t want to be a destroyer but I really hate being stuck in one place!
Ruki: I see, so an 'opening new doors' kinda aura?
Uruha: Yeah, if you see it on the bright side.
Ruki: What’s on the dark side then?
Uruha: I mean, if you talk about reconstruction, it’s about changing it completely, right?
Ruki: Yeah, so?
Uruha: This interview is really haaarrdd....
Ruki: Where is your place in this world?
Uruha: On the right of the stage?
Ruki: *ignores Uruha's answer* For example, Reita's the kind of guy who'll always be the lone ranger, no matter what school he transfers to- y'know what I mean?
Uruha: Ah- well some people think I called myself Uruha(麗) because my stage-appearance is beautiful (綺麗). I hate it! It's the insides that make us human! So I use the stage as my platform to express my inner self. I can show them that this fixation for physical beauty is not important.
Ruki: So if someone said [He's just beautiful, isn’t he~] , you'd hate them?
Uruha: I won’t hate them...
Ruki: What do you think will happen to us when we turn old?
Uruha: I'd still want to be in a band even if I'm a grandpa. Don't you?
Ruki: Well, yeah but...
Uruha: Yeah- I know. In reality my grandpa self probably would not want to be in a band at that age ahaa~. But the me right now, if I could- I want to be in a band forever.
Ruki: When you say be in a "band" forever, do you mean Gazetto?
Uruha: Gazetto's a great band, eh?
Ruki: Let's move on to movies!
Uruha:....
Ruki: So what’s your favourite movie up till now (2005) ?
Uruha: I can’t decide on a favourite inspiring movie. But on favourite tear-jerker movie, for me it’s TITANIC. And a favourite movie for my heart of a child is ULTRAMAN.
Ruki: Which part in TITANIC did you cry again?
Uruha: ... I didn't like going to see a famous movie. But all of my friends did. In the end, one day after school I went to go see a movie with my friends. It was my first movie, and I cried watching it. Now I know why these blockbuster movies are so famous. I learned something that day. But a famous movie isn’t the same with a good movie. But TITANIC was really great.
Ruki: What about other interesting movies?
Uruha: I like lots of different types of movies. But I like action movies the most. When I was in elementary school, my dad would always take me out for a movie on Fridays to see the newest movie in the theatre. And we saw that Schwarzenegger movie, when he appeared, I felt that he had some kind of connection with the anime world.
Ruki: ...Are you talking about TOTAL RECALL? It wasn’t an anime world, it was Mars!
Uruha: Yeah.
Ruki: Don't just simply say "yeah"!!@!
Uruha: Anyway, I really like Schwarzenegger's movies!
Ruki: You like anime movies too, right?
Uruha: I love them. Like Evangelion for example. I used to be so biased about anime coz I though aninme = otaku. And otaku = gross miserable sick people.
Ruki: So who brought you into anime then?
Uruha: My band's vocalist, his name is Ruki. He recommended me to some animes.
Ruki: ...Aaanyway, you liked those Ghibli Studio anime movies, dint you?
Uruha: They’re splendid.
Ruki: What’s your favourite?
Uruha: Castle in the Sky - Laputa!
Ruki: I didn’t like that one.
Uruha: But I though you haven’t seen Laputa yet?
Ruki: I just don't feel like watching it.
Uruha: Laputa's awesomee!! Go see!!
Ruki: What did you think about Howl's Moving Castle?
Uruha: Ah, that one wasn’t as interesting.
Ruki: My no.1 favourite will always be Spirited Away.
Uruha: That's another boring one. Its concept was out of date.
Ruki: What?! What about Totoro then?
Uruha: Yeah, Totoro's the same with Spirited Away. The concept is out of date.
Ruki: Last question! Tell me about your first band!
Uruha: And you pick this as your last question? Meh. Well. My first band was Karasu. The experience with my first band was stormy and full of drama... I went through lots of ups and downs with them.... Actually there were no ups at all...
Ruki: What was the band's principle?
Uruha: If one gets hit, everyone will share the shock of the hit. Unfortunately the shock was just too much for all of us to handle...
Ruki: Is your style during that time still reflected in your current style?
Uruha: Yes, I think somehow it is reflected. We painted our faces white. I think it would be great if we can do a FC live with our faces painted white. So the fans would know a part of us in the past. It's like saying- this is my past, the one that brought me here- being who I am today.
Ruki: I see. We can't deny who we are and what we used to be, eh?
Uruha: So... we're done with this interview right?
Ruki: Do you remember the time when you first met me?
Uruha: We met at 7th Avenue. What kind of question is that?
Ruki: ........Any messages for the fans?
Uruha: I know how fast people can change. If one day you were to lose interest in us- it's normal. I'd feel lonely but I'll be OK. Just always be true to yourself!
