L’Arc~en~Ciel Press Conference in Jakarta (2012)

 

On May 1st, the JaME Indonesia team got the chance to attend the L’Arc~en~Ciel press conference in Hotel Mulia, Jakarta, for their L’Arc~en~Ciel 20th L’Anniversary Tour. There the band answered our questions about the concert that would be held the next day.


This is your first time coming to Indonesia! Is there anything you would like to do while you're here?

ken: Selamat siang! (Good afternoon) You all look so happy today, all of you were smiling (smiles). What I want to do today is take a walk because Jakarta is such a beautiful city!

hyde: When I arrived yesterday, the traffic jam was insane (smiles). And because my favorite food is nasi goreng (Indonesian Fried Rice), I’m planning to have nasi goreng tonight (smiles).

tetsuya: Selamat siang! (Good afternoon) I’d like to see skyscrapers in Jakarta. Seeing them makes me so happy.

yukihiro: When I came yesterday, the air conditioner was very cold, whether it was in the airport or in the hotel room. I haven’t thought about what I want to do for the moment.

Your latest album Butterfly received a Platinum in Indonesia and there will be approximately 10,000 in the audience at your show tomorrow. How do you feel about that since this is your first time to come to Indonesia?

hyde: Actually, we have really wanted to come to Indonesia for a long time, and I’m glad that we can realize that wish tomorrow. We’re sure that our show tomorrow will be successful.

tetsuya: We are very happy that so many fans will come to tomorrow’s show, and we are going to give our maximum performance since this is our first time playing in Indonesia.

What surprises can we expect from tomorrow’s show?

hyde: We’ve been waiting so long for an outdoor performance, and since tomorrow’s show is outdoor, we’re going to make it a hot one! And we’re also going to give the MC in Indonesian.

How’s the setlist for tomorrow?

hyde: We’ve done a survey about what songs Indonesian fans like the most, but we’re not going to give a spoiler today, so it will be a surprise for tomorrow (hyde and ken laugh).
